High Peaks Adventure
Landscapes & Cultures of the Highest Mountains
Overview
This tour takes us through the three highest mountain ranges of the world: Himalayas, Karakoram and the Hindukush. We will visit ancient forts, alpine lakes, drive through mountain scape that is unlike any other and visit ancient cultures that for centuries developed in isolation. Be a part of local traditions, experience the history and enjoy local cuisine.
We only plan this tour three times a year, each with a slightly different itinerary focusing on festivals in Kalash and Chitral Valleys.
Your adventure is guaranteed to be exclusive. We only run our tours a few times a year, limit the number of clients and provide the best service possible whether you are on the trek or relaxing at the hotel. This means your experience is immersive, authentic, and well-supported.
We take care of all the details—from visa support to equipment, quality accommodations, and mouthwatering meals.

Trip Highlights
Shandur Polo Festival
Shandur Pass, the “roof top of the world” is a high altitude plateau that connects Ghizer and Chitral valleys. Shandur is famous for the Polo festival; a multi-day free-style polo festival at altitude where even walking can be a challenge for the unacclimatized. This is part of our July itinerary.

Kalash Festivals
Chilimjusht (aka Chilim Joshi) Festival is part of our May itinerary: This four-day spring festival is a celebration of spring and also a mating ritual. The men and women of the Kalash tribes meet with the aim of finding a spouse. Prayers and sacrifices are made for the safety of their fields and animals. It’s a huge party with lots of music and dancing.
Utchal Festival is part of our August itinerary. This is a harvest festival celebrating the wheat and barley harvest and milk products from the pastures. Men and women of the valley gather around in circles and collectively dance to different songs. The dancing is accompanied by wine and a feast.
Nanga Parbat
Fairy Meadows is an alpine pasture fromwhere you have breath taking views of Nanga Parbat, the 9th highest mountain in the world and the western most peak of the 2,400km (1,500miles) long Himalayan range.

Is this Trip for you?
This is a challenging trek. We will spend a lot of time walking on rocks and scree which cover the Baltoro. The trip is completely self supported by our crew as there are no facilities on the glacier, which makes it very difficult to leave the trek should you find yourself struggling. The campsites of Goro I, Concordia and Ali camp are on the glacier. However, we won’t be walking on ice; crossing Gondogoro-la is the only technical part of the trek. We will usually walk 6-8 hours a day at an easy pace with plenty of opportunity for rest.
This should not be your first multi-day, high altitude trek. You should be physically fit for the challenge (see our fitness guide). Your familiarization with the joys of multi-day camping will make this trip enjoyable.
